Introduction to Youth Work Course – North Belfast Alternatives
In response to a training request received from North Belfast Alternatives to provide training for its staff and volunteers Youth Link staf
f delivered an Introduction to Youth Work Programme, OCN Level 2, between September and November 2009. This programme helped build the capacity of the group to enable them to further meet the needs of their communities. The training was a first for many in the organisation and it is hoped that some members of the group will participate in a Level 3 programme in the future.
‘Alternatives’ is a restorative justice programme that aims to promote and develop non-violent community responses to the issues of low level crime and anti-social behaviour in areas across Northern Ireland. This programme was supported by the Peace III Programme managed for the Special EU Programmes body by the Youth Education Social Inclusion Partnership.
