Training for Young People (new)

Level 1 Award in Youth Work Practice

This qualification is designed for learners who have been involved in a youth group and have leadership aspiration and potential.  The qualification consists of three core themes, which enable learners to gain an understanding of leadership within a youth group, develop communication skills to support their leadership with others through the planning, delivery and evaluation of a youth work activity.  

TARGET GROUP:  Young people (minimum age 14 years ) who have an interest in youth work. 

Level 1 Award in Practical Youth Work / Ministry Skills

This qualification is aimed at young people who wish to do introductory training in youth work / minisitry leadership development, with a view to progressing on to further youth work training in later life.  It provides learners with knowledge in leadership development, delivery and evaluation of a youth work / ministry activity.  

TARGET GROUP: Young people (minimum age 14 years) who are new to leadership in youth work / ministry.  

Level 1 Award in Peer Mentoring for Young People

This qualification has been designed to help learners understand the role f the peer mentor and the benefits it can bring to people and communities.  

TARGET GROUP:  Young people (minimum age 14 years) who have an interest in the role and boundaries of a peer mentor within a local organisation.   

Level 1 Diversity and Good Relations

This qualification has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the importance of diversity and good relations.  It helps learners become more aware of diverse groups and the importance of respect within them.    

TARGET GROUP: Young people (minimum age 14 years) who are interested in the areas of diversity and good relations.  

Level 2 Award in Diversity and Good Relations

This qualification is designed to provide learners with an understanding of the importance of diversity and good relations. It helps learners to develop a sound awareness of diverse groups and the importance of respect within them.   Learners will have a better understanding of what is meant by prejudice and discrimination and will recognise the value of equal opportunities legislation.  

TARGET GROUP:  Adults and young people (minimum age 14 years ) who have an interest in diversity and good relations.
